Coming . . .

The Baptist Blogger has come into possession of authenticated, transcribed recordings of conversations with Dr. Patterson about his possible termination, job performance, and subversive activities that undermined the ministry and mission of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. These recordings shed light on an administrative framework at the Fort Worth school that remains in place, compromising the ability to recruit and retain qualified faculty to teach the next generation of pastor-theologians.

We anticipate publishing this material within the next 24 hours.

UPDATE 9/21/18 @ 11:57 AM ET:  We have just received a copy of court filings in the case of Patterson vs. Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

UPDATE 9/21/18 @ 4:05 PM ET: The post will go live at 11:59 PM ET tonight.

  1. I completely lost faith this week in SWBTS turning a corner when I read a tweet (since deleted) from a dean promoting Patterson and also read an article by a music faculty member in the Dallas paper supporting MacArthur’s social justice statement.

      1. I’m not an expert at Twitter. The tweet was not deleted after all. Found it thanks to a faculty member re-tweeting it:

    1. The dean who tweeted that is a longtime Patterson loyalist, and the music faculty member is the only SBC faculty member to sign last I heard.

      1. BB, thanks for all your work, and I understand politics comes to play when you publish things they want to keep quiet. If it is in God’s Will, you’ll publish it.

  2. Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

  3. Interesting fact, based on a google search, the Seminary has already been sued by a Patterson in 1993. It just was not this particular Patterson.

  4. BB,

I’m hoping the Patterson you’re referring to is Leighton Paige and not T. Farrar. Time will tell, I suppose.

  5. Patteraon went around firing people and destroying lives of Gods people for about 40 yrs. Yet sycophants and denominational hacks still defend him
