PREVIEW: Million Dollar Digs

Getting canned by a Southern Baptist entity doesn’t pay what it used to. Apparently, it pays a lot more, especially if you successfully poach institutional donors to underwrite the re-tooled non-profit you and your wife have been running for years. It took us all of about 20 minutes to pull all the public records yesterday, and a little more than $30 in fees to retrieve reports from various county and state government agencies.

This weekend — and no later than Monday because we have other commitments that will demand our full attention early next week — we will publish our analysis and LOTS of links to files, photos, and odd curiosities.

And we’ll likely have some questions to ask.

Stay tuned . . .

(Post-script: That is not a built-in television to the right of the oversized soaking tub. It is a see-through gas-log fireplace that opens on the other side into the master bedroom of a lovely home in North Texas. HT: Ebby Halliday

  1. I guess someone should monitor the internet for repetitions of the North Texas equivalent of “The king spoke and said, “Is not this great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power and for the honor of my majesty?””

  2. When you have been living in mansions with 18 servants paid for by the sacrificial giving of the men and women in the church pews for 30 years, it is hard to live modestly. They have a certain standard of living to uphold.

    1. That statement reflects the values of the world, which God hates. It is vanity.
      Such behavior does not mirror the humility of the Lord Jesus, nor does it imitate the Apostle Paul. “This does not reflect the humility of Jesus. Nor bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
      3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
      4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
      5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)”.1 Timothy 3:2-5
      Paige Patterson does not fit this picture in many ways:
      And where is Mary, the adopted daughter of the Pattersons?

      (NOTE: Last sentence redacted by TBB prior to approval)

  3. As more and more details of these disgusting people become public, Baptist’s level of revulsion for what they have done should reach epic proportions!
