For the past few months, I have been researching some matters related to the Southern Baptist Convention in preparation for the 2018 annual meeting that will take place in Dallas, TX, this coming June 12-13. As part of my research, I have procured archive copies of the history 1985 annual meeting where 45,519 messengers gathered in what some have called the “largest deliberative body ever assembled.”
Without commentary, I am posting the full sessions of this annual meeting in anticipation that others may benefit from hearing and seeing the proceedings. I also recommend following the printed proceedings as published in the 1985 SBC Annual Report, beginning on page 24 and accessed here.
