Homemaker National Anthem…

Crooner par excellence, Tom Jones, sings the marketing jingle for Southern Baptist’s latest, most innovative academic program in Christian homemaking…

  1. Very funny. Another option might be “Put Another Log on the Fire.”

Put another log on the fire,
Cook me up some bacon and some beans,
Go out to the car and change the tire,
Wash my socks and sew my old blue jeans.
Baby, fill my pipe and then go fetch my slippers,
Boil me up another pot of tea.
Put another log on the fire, girl,
Come and tell me why you’re leaving me.

Don’t I let you wash the car on sunday ?
    Don’t I warn you when you’re getting fat ?
Ain’t I gonna take you fishing some day ?
Well, a man can’t love a woman more than that.

Ain’t I always nice to your kid sister,
Don’t I take her driving every night ?
So sit here at my feet because I like you when you’re sweet
And you know that it ain’t feminine to fight.

Yeah, come and tell me why you’re leaving me.

  2. Now this is funny.
Hadn’t checked your site for a week now.
Just have to think I’d want more than the hat left on! Ha!

  3. Geez you are all a bunch of extremists. I mean, really… is your life THAT dull and boring that you have to take something THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOU and run to the flippin’ North Pole with it just to be able to spout out your worthless opinions?? I mean, are you a female? JEFF?!?!? BRAD??!?! I would safely assume no, you aren’t. So what on Earth do you care and why on Earth must you have an opinion about something that doesn’t need for you to care or want your opinion? You’re portraying this new avenue of education for homemakers as a course instructing housewifes how to lay down like door mats and just take it in the tailpipe! It’s simply an educational avenue that can be used IF DESIRED to take what we already do, and that you mom did for you that you obviously take for granted, and meerly do it better or more efficiently.
