Like a camel through the needle’s eye…

Sam Hodges over at the Dallas Morning News has provided an interesting summary of the estate of W.A. and Betty Criswell, which included a set of German dishes reportedly given as a gift from German Chancellor Adolf Hitler to his commander-in-chief, Werner von Blomberg. If you want to see a video clip of Dr. and Mrs. Criswell talking about their personal wealth, click here for the 62nd Anniversary video from February 14, 1997.

Of course, we can’t help but wonder how much money a few dead antelopes, a neck-up giraffe head, and a tattered bobcat will fetch on the auction block in a decade or so.

For those interested, here is a copy of the W.A. Criswell Foundation’s 2006 Periodic Report filed with the Texas Secretary of State. And here’s a copy of the most recently filed IRS Form 990, listing the Foundation’s assets and expenditures.
